Once again the unique and still operational long wave transmitter, with callsign SAQ, at the Grimeton Radio Station will be activated on VLF 17.2 kHz on 30 June at 9 and 12 UTC. Built in 1922-24, the Grimeton Radio Station has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2004. It is "an exceptionally well-preserved monument to early wireless transatlantic communication", representing "the process of development of communication technology in the period following the First World War".
