Collaudo interfaccia "De Luxe 2.2"

We decided to create an interface for digital amateurs for digital transmissions that, in order to work, did not need either a serial port or even a serial / USB adapter. To satisfy this need, the FT232RL chip came to our aid; it is a USB / Serial converter produced by FTDI. Compared to its predecessors, this chip integrates an EEPROM, a clock circuit and the necessary resistances to the USB section, this allows to greatly simplify the circuit and to reduce its dimensions. The recognition of the chip with consequent installation of the drivers takes place automatically once the interface is connected to the USB port. Once the drivers have been installed, the system has an additional serial port called “USB Serial Port”. After identifying the number assigned to the additional COM port, we will only have to specify it during the setting of the software we intend to use. The galvanic isolation between the two connected units (radio and computer), is obtained by using transformers and opto-isolators. The “De Luxe” interface allows us to operate in psk31, psk63, olivia, rtty afsk, amtor, mt63, FT8, rtty fsk and cw. The signal levels are adjusted using single-turn trimmers.
