VU4 Andaman Island DXpedition 2026
It is with great pleasure that World DXpeditions is announcing an upcoming DXpedition to the beautiful Andaman Island, IARU Region 3, IOTA AS-001, and three POTA locations (IN-0003, IN-0005, and IN-0007).
From October 19, 2026 to November 2, 2026, a team of ten operators will be active from Andaman Island, operating five stations around the clock on bands from10m to 160m using CW, SSB, DIGI, FM, RTTU, PSK31, and Packet.
We have assembled a team of experienced DXpeditioners: K1NZ, Nick Maslon; K2SAV, William “Savo” Savacool; K1ZM, Jeff Briggs; N1QV, Miriam Briggs; W0ZB, Steve Keithahn; K3PT, Kyle Snavely; KD0IVB, Emily Snavely; K1LZ, Krassy Petkov; VU2RS, Sarath Rayaprollu; and N4VGE, Van Herridge Organizer. Team support members are XYL Judi Savacool and XYL Vicki Herridge. Backup applications are being accepted.
Five fixed stations, one portable station from Shack In A Box, twelve antennas, and supplementary equipment will be shipped air freight to VU4. All equipment will be fully insured. There will be 13 days of 24/7 operations with HP stations with antennas pointed to the Europe and the United States to maximize QSOs. VU4 ranks as #42 for the USA and #58 worldwide, making it a rare and exciting challenge.
Needless to say, the support of corporate and private sponsors are essential to make this DXpedition a success. The Team priority will be to make as many QSOs as possible and offer the highest exposure as possible for sponsors. Corporate or Club sponsors (donating $1,000 or more in cash or equipment) will be recognized on our QSL cards and website. All Private Sponsors and Patrons will be listed on our website.
Commitments made to support the Andaman Island DXpedition this year will be listed on our website as a sponsor as soon as the commitment is made. Fulfillment of the pledge will be due by January 15, 2026.
We understand the importance of providing opportunities for North American operators.
That is why we will have directional antennas for North America and will be closely monitoring propagation conditions to maximize QSOs with stations across the United States. While we cannot make any promises, we assure you that we will do our best to optimize operations and increase the chances of QSOs with operators around the world.
